QC Instructors

Barb began dancing at the age of 3 and has been part of the QC family since 1986. She became a member of QC’s competition team, competing in numerous local and national competitions. She was also a member of Twin Cities Dance Court- a non-profit volunteer performance troupe with which she performed in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France- including EuroDisney, Italy, and many local venues including nursing homes and the Mall of America. She has performed multiple times at Walt Disney World in Florida and in 2008 in Nassau, Bahamas. Throughout her dance career she has trained with many renowned choreographers. During college she attended ballet classes and dance education classes at the University of Minnesota. She trained in many dance disciplines including ballet/pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical /contemporary, clog, musical theater, modern, hip hop, and liturgical. Barb is also a member of the Chicago National Association of Dance Masters. Barb has been teaching and choreographing at QC since 1994. Barb's focus is with the competition program as QC's Competition Director. With her passion of dance she guides each dancer to their greatest potential. Barb has received many awards for her choreography on the regional and national level.

Barb additionally has her Bachlors of Science in Kinesiology (the Study of Movement) and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy.



Erin has been studying dance for 23 years and has been teaching dance for 9 years.  She studied at Kutztown University where she was president of their dance company.  She has been performing professionally for eight years; these include theme parks, industrial, regional theatre, national and international tours. Erin has choreographed for competition teams in Pennsylvania as well as High School and College musicals. Erin will be joining QC in September after she completes her August tour in China where she is currently performing. As a teacher she hopes to pass on not only her knowledge but also her love and passion for dance.


Felicia started dance training at QC Dance at age 3. She participated in competition as well as being a member of TCDC (Twin Cities Dance Court) a non-profit performance company. As a member of the Pequot Lakes Revolution Team for 4 years, Felicia received the All Conference Dancer award in her senior year, All Academic State award, Conference Champions, Section Champions, and her team was State Finalists. In the past 3 years she has taught a variety of ages from Rockin’ Tots through 5th grade. Felicia is starting her third year at Concordia University, St. Paul pursuing a B.B.A. in Finance with an emphasis in Dance.  At Concordia, she has been a member of the Concordia University Performance Team, was invited to participate in the Honors Program and is active in Business Club. Recently Felicia volunteered at an after school program for refugee students. She is looking forward to another year with the ‘wonderful little dancers’ at QC!



Regina Peluso is a graduate of The Boston Conservatory of Music and The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. Professional theatre credits include "The Awesome 80's Prom" ( NY Off-BWay), "Carousel" (Regionally in Ohio and NY), "Cats" ( Gateway Playhouse NY), "Bedroom Farce" (Odyssey Theatre LA) , "The Secret Garden" ( Round Barn Theatre IN) among others. She is a adjudicator for "Nexstar" and "Starquest" National Dance Competitions, and recently relocated to Minneapolis after working in both New York and Los Angeles. Though she treasured her years as a performer, Regina believes her favorite role to be that of an educator. Her very first introduction to dance at the age of four was with Mary and QC Dance. That initial inspiration led her to continue her training with Ballet MN, work professionally in New York theatre, and dance as a series regular on the NY Emmy Award winning TV show "Ditty Doodle Works". She is very excited to be a part of the QC Dance Teaching Staff.


Heather started dance when she was in 6th grade taking tap, ballet, and jazz at Queen’s Court, now known as QC Dance. In high school she danced on the Blaine Dance Team and was captain her senior year. For the past seven years she has been teaching ballet, tap, tumbling, jazz and clogging at QC. Her roll has also included the Power Puff competition line and assisting in the rehearsal and polishing of groups, solos, duets and trios to prepare them for competition performance. Heather has three wonderful children of her own plus owns an in home licensed daycare. . .children are her passion! Her classes include technique and skill development as well as fun activities to enhance creativity, and build self esteem.


Heather is also our fundraising and birthday party coordinator.



Jesse is overjoyed to be returning to work with students of QC Dance. A teacher, choreographer and performer Jesse presently lives in Minneapolis. He began dancing and choreographing at 14 when he joined his high school’s modern dance company MoMoCo. He then went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin – Steven’s Point with Bachelor’s in Dance where he studied under Professor Joan Karlen, Re|Dance co-founder Michael Estanich and Jump Rhythm Jazz Company’s associate artistic director Jeannie Hill. While at UWSP Jesse was fortunate to dance many featured roles. Upon graduation Jesse went on tour with the Chicago based Re|Dance Company and is currently an apprentice with Zenon Dance Company.

With five years of teaching experience in many techniques,  Jesse’s classes are high energy and fun while maintaining a technique emphasis, bodily awareness, performance quality and a masterful mind. He himself takes class several times a week furthering his understanding of the body and the art of dance so he can share that understanding with his students.



Lissa has been dancing at Stage Door of Performing arts since the age of three all the way through her graduating year in 2003.  She spent the last six years there as a part of their top performing lines, competing in top competitions across the nation winning high awards at both the regional and national levels.  During this time she also participated on the Irondale Dance Team where she was honored to spend her senior year as a captain.  From there she continued to dance throughout her time at college on both the St. Cloud State Dance Team along with transferring schools and becoming a member of the University of Wisconsin Stout Dance Team.  She also spent her senior year at Stout helping to expand the UW-Stout Dance Ensemble, giving all dancers the opportunity to perform in many different styles and skill levels.  After graduating in 2008 with a degree in Interior Decorating, Lissa has had the chance to continue her love for dance by teaching at her former studio, Stage Door of Performing Arts.  From 2008-2011, she worked with kids of all ages on both the recreational and competitive level.  She even got to spend the last two years there working with the moms group.  Lissa is very excited to work with the little ones this year and share with them her love and passion for dance!


Katie has been dancing for 15 years and has been teaching dance for 5 years now.  She studied ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop and modern at the Dance Academy.   She danced on the Worthington Trojette Dance Team for 5 years and was a captain for 2 years.   Katie graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato in May 2010 with a degree in Dance as well as a minor in Nutrition.  While dancing at MSU she worked with guest artists such as Alan Sener, Beth Corning, Morgan Thorson and Gabriel Mason.   She performed in many College Dance Festivals in the area as well as being Dance Captain for MSU’s Production of “CATS”.  She traveled to Washington DC in 2010 to perform at the Kennedy Center with MSU’s Dance Program for ACDFA’s dance nationals.  Katie coached the W.E.M. Dance Team for two competitive seasons.  She was an Instructor as well as a choreographer at Dance Express in Mankato for 4 years where she worked with competitive and recreational dancers of all ages.  She just finished her first year teaching at Stage Door of Performing Arts and is very excited to continue teaching this year!  Katie is very excited to be working with the Dancers at QC and hopes to have a great year!

 


Sarah Austin has been dancing since she was four years old and began competing at the age of six.  She has been trained in many different techniques of dance.  She began her career as a teacher in 1994 as a student assistant at Royal dance.  She then went on to teaching her own classes and choreographing groups, solos,duets,and trios on both the recreational and competitive level.  For the last four years Sarah was a member of the teaching staff at Stage Door Performing Arts Center teaching and choreographing all ages of both recreational and competitive levels.    She was a member of the Totino Grace E'gals Varsity Dance team for three years.  Her team was two time conference champions ,was section champion ,and won four state champion titles. She was a part of the choreography committee, was senior captain, and was awarded all conference her senior year.   After Graduating high school Sarah began her coaching career as a Jv Coach with the Totino Grace E'gals.  She is currently coaching the Varsity competition team at Centennial High School and the Centennial middle school performance team. Sarah has started a summer clinic educating dancers on their technique and skills and preparing them for competitive high school dance team. Sarah has a passion and love for dance that she hopes to pass on to her students through her teaching.   She is excited to join the teaching staff at QC and is looking forward to a great year.
