Director Mary Williams Jasicki
![]() Mary Williams Jasicki Director & Founder of QC Dance Mary’s dance began at age 6 studying with the renown Dorothy Lundstrom. At age 16, she started her 1st teaching job through the Minneapolis Park Board. Her training continued in ballet and modern in college at the Minnesota Dance Theater and intense Ballet with Joe Savino. By age 18, Mary taught for 3 Minneapolis park programs and worked her way through 2 years of college at the University of Minnesota. At age 19, Mary ran for Miss St Anthony which provided an opportunity to win an educational scholarship and perform dance. After placing 1st runner up, she ran again in 1968 and won all three categories swimsuit, evening gown and the most important, talent. In 1968 Mary competed in the Miss Minnesota Pageant with 67 community representatives and won the title. In this capacity, Mary was named the official representative of the state of Minnesota by Governor Levander, produced and directed a Holiday Show with the talent of many local Queens and community representatives, who performed in metro area hospitals. She created ‘Girl Talk¹ an informative week of training with pageant candidates still used today. Mary was a Miss America contestant in Atlantic City in 1968. After giving up her title, Mary won model of the year through the Estelle Compton Institute and modeled and choreographed fashion shows for the Bombardier Corporations (skidoo) until 1980. Partnering with Charlotte Olein ( Miss Minnesota 1967), Queens Court Studio of Dance opened at Apache Plaza in 1970. Mary took complete ownership of Queens Court in 1989 and opened a 2nd location at Pioneer Village in Blaine, which moved to Northgate Mall, then moved across the street , then moved to its current location. Through the years Mary has been a member of Dance Educators of America, the Chicago National Association of Dance Masters, Dance Masters of Wisconsin and is currently a member of the Metro North Camber. Along the way she has chosen to improve her craft by attending many seminars and master classes. In 1993, Mary formed the Twin Cities Dance Court - TCDC (Totally Cool Dance Company!) with Michele Blair. Mary served as the volunteer director, producer and choreographer of the Company. In addition to performing at nursing homes, Mary coordinated several travel performances. These trips took the company to Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Paris, performing at Euro Disney, Disney World Orlando and Italy, performing for the Summer Dance Festival. Mary is the proud mother of 3 grown children: Brad, Bridgette and Andy and proud grandmother of 3 grandchildren: Lilly, Oliver & Eleanore.
