Spring Lake Park – Parks and Recreation Dance Classes

QC is proud to partner with the City of Spring Lake Park to provide quality programs for students of all ages. All classes are held at QC Dance in our professional studio(s). QC Staff are excited to welcome you.

Youth Dance Class Offerings

Tummy Time

Ages 3 months through crawlers & parent/adult
This interactive class provides parent/infant bonding during a class filled with music, props and activities. Each infant will participate in stretching, tummy time and more to reach their developmental milestones through play! Min 5. Max 10.

Mommy & Me – Ages 0-3 with parent/adult

Parents and tots enjoy an exercise/activity class together. Rockin’ tots enjoy playful songs, fun with props and tumbling. Dads are welcome, too! Our instructor will guide parents and children through play and exercise activities. Please wear comfortable attire and clean tennis shoes or ballet slippers. This class is perfect for children not ready to separate from mom or dad. Min 5. Max 10.

 

Kidlets – Ages 2-3

A delightful introduction to the art of dance with ballet basics, creative movement, fun with
props and tumbling, all in a professional dance setting. Please wear a leotard (skirt attached is
acceptable if not too long) or exercise/comfortable stretchy attire and ballet slippers. This class
is perfect for the child who is comfortable separating from mom or dad. Min 5. Max. 12.

Kidance – Ages 4-5

A delightful introduction to the art of dance with ballet basics, creative movement, fun with

DancingKids

Ages 5-8

Participants will focus on dance basics of jazz and ballet in this fun introductory class. Learn
basic ballet positions and steps in a relaxed atmosphere where fun and creativity are
encouraged. Enjoy some jazz for coordination and rhythm. Discover Dance! Fun for your feet!
Min 5. Max. 12.

Hippity Hop – Ages 4-6

Students will learn the latest styles of dance through body isolations, funky‐style steps and
contemporary moves to the latest approved pop and hip-hop music. Wear comfortable clothes
and sneakers. Min 5. Max. 12.

 

Hip Hop – Ages 7-11

Students will learn the latest styles of dance through body isolations, funky‐style steps and
contemporary moves to the latest approved pop and hip-hop Music. Wear comfortable clothes
and clean sneakers. Min 5. Max. 12.

Royal Princess & Prince Ball

Ages 3‐6

You’re already true royalty at home, so enjoy this camp of crowns, fancy gowns, dazzling dancers and princess/ prince manners. This camp is a Royal introduction to the art of dance with a Princess/ Prince Theme. Students will learn ballet basics and creative movement; all in a professional dance setting. Please wear a leotard (skirt attached is acceptable if not too long) or exercise/ comfortable stretchy attire and ballet slippers. Min. 5. Max. 10.

MINI DANCE TEAM

Ages 4‐7

Do you have a future Pom Squad dancer in your house? Then our Mini Dance Team class is just the thing for them! Dancers will combine jazz, hip-hop and drill team styles into a fun and upbeat routine! Dance along to pop hits while learning strong movements.  Poms will be provided but dancers are welcome to bring their own. Min. 5 Max. 10.

MAGICAL STORYBOOK ADVENTURE

Reading is fun and so is wiggling around! Magical Storybook Adventure is a weekly activity for children of all ages and their caregivers. This fun-filled activity combines storybooks with music, dance, rhymes, instruments, finger plays, and much more! Join us as we explore stories while learning rhythm, musicality, motor skills and verbal skills. Min. 5. Max. 10.

 

 

Fairy Frolic 

A fairy time delight! A beginning level class for young dancers including creative movement, fun
with props and ballet basics. Dancers will explore ballet through creative movement, technique
and storytelling. Please wear a leotard (skirt attached is acceptable if not too long) or exercise/
comfortable stretchy attire and ballet slippers. Min. 5. Max. 12.

Ninja Camp

This 4-week camp gives boys and girls the opportunity to practice and learn new ‘ninja’ skills. In
this hip hop based camp students will work on stamina, flexibility and ‘trick’ moves focusing on
technique. Great for kids who like to run and jump around. Girls and Boys ages 4-7 will enjoy
this active camp! Min. 5. Max. 12.

DANCE TEAM PREP & TECHNIQUE

Ages 10‐18

Everything you need for your school dance team! Taught by competition dance team coaches, these classes are open to all dancers and all levels. These classes specialize in State‐level dance team skills including kick stamina, jazz and kick technique and flexibility. Min 5. Max 15.

 

KIDS YOGA

Students will learn calming yoga moves used to center and control energy. Yoga moves are age appropriate and incorporate fun names to keep it exciting for kids. Students will work on balance, flexibility and strength while moving and holding different yoga poses. Min. 5. Max. 10.

Adult Dance Class Offerings

Adult Zumba

Love to Dance? Join the Party! This specialty course is designed for those just starting their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle or the older active adult. Zumba fitness is for everyone, all shapes and sizes and just about any age. This class allows you to have fun while safely losing pounds and inches. With Zumba, the fun comes first, and the physical benefits follow. Zumba Gold is like a basic Zumba class with lower impact. The class will be a fat burning, body shaping, fun workout! Min 5. Max 10.

 

Yoga

Students will learn calming yoga moves used to center and control energy. Enjoy a balance of different yoga paces from basic sun salutations and relaxing savasana, to basic and supine postures. Students will work on balance, flexibility and strength while moving and holding different yoga poses.
