Competitive Dance Teams

QC Dance is a leader in the industry in providing competition team options for numerous commitment level desires.  Teams participate in an average of 2-5 competitions per year. Competition proposal for the season is presented at the initial Competition meeting in August.

Dancers interested in competition will need to audition during the summer.  Competition Team Audition Classes are open to ages 5 through 18.

The QC Booster Club is available to all competition dancers for additional fundraising opportunities.

Premiere Teams

Will focus on teaching dancers the skills required to succeed in the competitive dance world, while having fun!

Routines will be taught at an accelerated rate when compared to a Recreational Class.

Premiere Teams participate in 2 regional competitions. National competition participation will be surveyed at the beginning of the year. 

Pre-Ballet or Ballet classes (Wednesday or Thursday) are highly recommended but optional.

Schedule

Meet for class once a week for 1 hour. 

.Fees

Tuition fees are $60-$100 per   month, $200-$250 for 2 costumes.                                   Entry fees are determined by the competitions/vendors (typically $50 per routine).

Elite Teams

Will focus on teaching dancers the skills required to succeed in the competitive world at an accelerated rate, while having fun.  Routines are taught at a very accelerated rate. Consult yearly plan for number of routines per team

Will attend 3-5 competitions per season, including 1 National competition if qualified

Schedule

Meet for class twice a week from 2 hours to 5 hours over 2 nights.
Elite Team routine specifics, tuition and costume fee specifics available upon completion of August Auditions and team/class designations.

Fees

Tuition fees range from $90-$200 per month.
Entry fees are determined by the competitions/vendors (typically $50 per routine).
Costume fees range from $200 to $500 total per year for all team costumes.

Star Teams

By invitation only.  Dancers must first be placed on a Premier or Elite Team.
Star Teams, including Premier Team dancers, will follow the Elite Team Action Plan for competitions attending

Pop & Hip Hop Teams

Will focus on teaching dancers the skills required to succeed in the competitive dance world, while having fun!  Routines will be taught at an accelerated rate compared to recreational classes. (1 routine for Pom, 1 routine for Hip Hop)

Hip Hop & Pom Teams participate in 2 regional competitions. National competition participation will be surveyed at the beginning of the year.  If they qualify for Nationals they may perform their routine.

Pre-Ballet or Ballet classes (Wednesday or Thursday) are highly recommended but optional.

Schedule

Meet for class once a week for 45 minutes to 1 hour September through February. (additional practices will be required to prepare for competition performances)

Fees

Tuition fees are $50-$100 per month.                                 Costume fees range from  $100-$125.
Entry fees are determined by the competitions/vendors (typically $50 per routine).

Solos, Duets & Trios

Solo, Duet & Trio opportunities are available for dancers already placed on a competition team who would like to expand their dance involvement.  These additional opportunities will be announced in the beginning of the season, where dancers with the additional desires can sign up to be evaluated.

Solos, Duets & Trios meet with an instructor for choreography and then for continued rehearsal throughout the season.

Competition auditions

Each dancer with the desire to compete is required to audition regardless of past competition experience. A dancer who has previously competed is not guaranteed a place on a competition team.

Dancers wishing to audition for a position on one of QC’s award winning competition teams are required to attend audition classes.  Dancers who are new to QC or would like class placement are encouraged to attend these classes.

Dancers will be placed in the best fit class or team. Audition classes will evaluate numerous factors including but not limited to: age, skill, technique, professionalism, performance, showmanship, flexibility, endurance and more.
